What is Relaxed Realism?

Relaxed realism is a style of play where we organize missions using close to life military organization and protocol but this use is loose as fun is the priority here. In missions we organize into squads, platoon, or other elements and follow direction from a commanding officer to complete the mission objective. Freedom and Choice

JANFU has no attendance requirements and you are free to take almost any role as a brand new member. After a few weeks all roles will be open to you. You can tough it out in the dirt as an average rifleman, take command of said people in the dirt as a Squad or Platoon leader, or operate a vehicle/aircraft. Role slotting in missions is on a first come first serve basis. The commanding officer of a given mission will call what roles he wants and whoever clicks it first can get it. Of course feel free to ask and if you really want a particular role you'll likely get it.

Missions

Our versatile modset allows mission makers to create an immense amount of scenario settings. One mission may be cold war era West German mechanized infantry assaulting a Soviet airborne unit, the next may be British troops in North Africa defending their trench line from an armored attack, and another may be a tank company seizing an airfield. 

We play primarily Cooperative but also plenty of PvP/TvT missions, as well as the occasional unique roleplay style mission. 

Organization

JANFU has ranks that are purely for group organization and administration purposes. Officers and NCOs have voluntarily taken the responsibility to moderate sessions, process recruitment requests, make/organize missions, maintain servers, etc. Within the context of playing a mission these ranks do not apply. For example, if you slotted a team leader role in your second session an officer may very well decide to be an average rifleman in your team in which case they're under your command and direction!

Rules

1. No Teamkilling on purpose

2. No micspam

3. No targeted harassment of members (banter is fine but if someone tells you to knock it off, take the hint)

4. No rambo-ing in missions aka play as a member of the team don't run off and try to be a special elite operator snowflake.

5. No hacking/cheating

JANFU is not super hardcore about what you say but you may be subject to a vibe check if you get out of hand. Failure to follow any rules may result in a session kick or permanent ban depending on the habituality or severity of violations.
